OFSTED Comments

The school has continually strived to maintain high standards and offer all children the opportunity to experience a broad range of experiences which will prepare them for adult life. We are pleased that Ofsted, June 2011, recognized our many strengths, very quickly caught the essence of our school and found the key areas of achievement to be:

  • Pupils’ contribution to the school and the wider community is outstanding
  • Good levels of engagement with parents and carers contribute effectively to pupils’ good behaviour, above average-attendance and their good achievement and enjoyment of school
  • Safeguarding procedures and policies were a ‘strong good’
  • The pupils involvement in a wide range of sporting and musical activities enables them to live healthy lives
  • Pupils’ learning is enriched very effectively with the good curriculum
  • Opportunities to learn about and engage with children from a wide range of religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds are good
  • Self evaluation is rigorous and accurate
  • Leaders and managers demonstrate a determination to continually improve the school’s performance and all staff are strongly committed and involved in monitoring it
  • The governing body is supportive of all the school does, and continually challenges the school to improve further

These are just a selection of the many supportive and positive points made in the report.

Of the 19 summative judgements OfSTED gave the school 17 ‘Good’ judgements and 2 ‘Outstanding’ judgements.
